Hi,
this is a field in a table relating to collateral values

it's Ansatzwert / Nominalwert

Any suggestions? TIA.

carrying amount
Explanation:
carrying amount/face (or nominal) value

But it ALL depends on your context - if it's accounting then it also depends on the accounting standard being used.

recognised [stated] value

Explanation:
... which would have to be understood in the sense of "(bilanziell?) angesetzter (OR ausgewiesener) Wert". However, this is still somewhat speculative as you haven't provided enough detail.

Questions:
Does this relate to items of a balance sheet, a P&L account...?
Which accounting standards are involved here?

Outside a strict BS/P&L context, this could very well be a value used as a basis for some sort of calculation - so more context would come in handy.

Thanks everyone.

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
agree  RobinB: "Carrying amount" would be right irrespective of accounting standard, and "notional value" would be equally OK for Nominalwert.
