German term or phrase: ungerades/schiefes Geschäftsjahr
ungerades/schiefes Geschäftsjahr ...

Company A (whose business year = calendar year) is taken over by company B (which has a xxx business year, e.g. from June 30 - May 31 every year) and will adopt its business year henceforth. This is certainly not a Rumpfgeschäftsjahr, which would only apply in the first year! Any ideas? e.g. "uneven business year"? Thanks very much.

ungerades/schiefes Geschäftsjahr
non-calendar fiscal/financial year

Explanation:
That's all it's saying here, the point being that most German/Austrian/Swiss companies have the calendar year as their fiscal (US)/financial (UK) year.

Avoid translating Geschäftsjahr as "business year".

Incidentally, shouldn't that be "June 1 - May 31"? :-)

whereby there are hundreds of instances of non-calendar fiscal year(-end), rather than financial year.
