This refers to a very well known German "Schlager" entitled "Ein Bett im Kornfeld" (for the lyrics see link), so German audiences would immediately make the association. I guess you'd have to find a similar popular saying or song to serve as a basis for your target audience, or leave the original and explain.

"a bed of roses" is an expression in English suggesting nice things and it contains the word 'bed' :-)

agree  SusieZ: I've never heard of "Bett im Reisfeld" as any kind of dream, but found several hotels with the name. The lyrics above refer to a corn field, so don't see the connection. I guess this answer would suit the context for some nice romantic dream....
