German term or phrase: Begegnungsplattform
I understand the concept (this text concerns a trade fair), but I'm wondering if there's an established English term for this word.

Thanks!

Another possibility. Is it just me, or has Plattform become totally ubiquitous in the last couple of years?

Notes to answerer
Asker: Sorry for the delay in answering. I'm still trying to figure out how this site works. I found that "forum" works well. Less stilted and takes a modifier easily. It got the message across. Thanks so much, folks!

-> Well, I particularly meant in German - it does have a specific meaning in English IT. Whoever thought of calling the World of Health IT exhibition a "solution-oriented platform" should be placed in front of a firing squad!

neutral  Lonnie Legg: I can't think of anything better atm--but "forum" does shift the emphasis a bit, to "intellectual exchange"./OAD: "A place, meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged." This is also how I use the word.

-> I don't think it has anything to do with intellectual exchange - it's just a place where people come together to talk and/or do business. In Latin, it meant " marketplace" .

agree  casper: FWIW, "trade fair forum" googles pretty well
