German to English translations [PRO] Marketing - Advertising / Public Relations
German term or phrase:Wirtschaftsjunioren

Okay, this is some sort of union, club, society, that much is clear. Does anyone have an appropriate English translation? I have been working with "Business Youth" "Young Business People" (Well THAT'S obviously rot!)
My working translation: Member of Proprietor's Federal Board of Directors of German Business Youth, Berlin.

In the end I have usd two suggestions: I have not translated the name itself, but have a translation in parentheses behind it, Birgit's suggestion. In parentheses is (junior executives and...), Brigitte's suggestion. Who wants points? Who's willing to decline them? This is the only drawback to Kudoz (except of course the occasional fit-pitching and ego-ruffling)!
I have no idea whether there is an English link but if you ask google about "Wirtschaftsjunioren" you'll find plenty of websites. Under www.wjd.de it says: "Führungskräfte und Unternehmer aus allen Bereichen der Wirtschaft, die jünger als 40 Jahre sind." I think this is pretty clear.
Explanation: Da es der Verbandsname ist, nicht übersetzen, sondern mit einer Klammer auflösen, z.B.: "member of the executive (federal) board of Wirtschaftsjunioren Deutschland (German association of young entrepreneurs)"
ME könnte man sich in diesem Kontext das "federal" sparen, da "executive" im Englischen sowieso hoch angesiedelt ist und Ausländer sicherlich nicht davon ausgehen, dass es noch Hierarchien auf Länderebene gibt.
Ich würde "German assocication" "German entrepreneurs" vorziehen, da die sicherlich aus ausländische Mitglieder haben. Auf keinen Fall irgendwas mit "Youth", das sind üblicherweise Jungenliche... Unten der Link für ihre Website. Als Mitglied muss man unter 40 sein, also nicht unbedingt blutjung....
Woher das "proprietor" kommen soll, kann ich nicht nachvollziehen.
