German term or phrase:Masseniet
- Referenzmasse überprüfen!
- Sämtliche Bohrungen für Annietmuttern, Nieten, etc. in einem Arbeitsvorgang einbringen.
- Bohrplatte demontieren.
- Masseniet setzen.
- Bondingwert gemäß ABC123 messen und Wert eintragen.
So far in this document there has be no mention of any electrical components or anything of that kind, so it seems rather out of place to talk about Masse in that sense, so I reckoned the first item on the list actually meant reference dimensions (from the Bohrplatte) but then again, I'm not su sure. Masseniet sounds almost as if it could mean Masse in the electrical sense, but then Bondinwert baffles me too. (I have edited slightly to ensure confidentiality etc., e.g ABC123.)

My suggestion re the document was mainly for your (potential) benefit. But if it's just a mixture of numbers and letters, it doesn't directly identify a company, does it? And if it just happens to be accessible on the Web, you're not the one violating...

Reference bonding and bonding value would seem to be probable translations but please tread cautiously with this, as I have not been able to find any direct translations for any of these terms.

Explanation: pure guess based on the context (and in the absence of any ghits for the German term aside from your question)
It sounds like a single rivet is to be placed as a reference rivet, and the bond strength of the rivet is to be measured (as a QA measure before placing the rest of the rivets?) Perhaps it makes no contribution to the structural assembly but only serves test and maintenance purposes.
I certainly agree that Referenzemasse should be understood as Referenzmaße. If the author is Swiss, (s) can be excused, but otherwise...

Asker: That sounds excellent too. My ABC123 was merely another mixture of letters and numbers. Equally meaningless to me, but erring on the side of caution, I didn't want to include the actual doc. code.
Asker: Good point about the doc. ref. No., but I fear it (HS213) isn't very helpful in any case.
