PROBST war maßgeblich an der Flugerprobung eines Prototyps der Akaflieg Stuttgart beteiligt. Mit der von ihm entwickelten Messanlage konnten während der Erprobung viele Messdaten des Segelflugzeuges aufgezeichnet werden. Aus diesen Daten sollten zusätzlich auch flugmechanische Derivative gewonnen werden. Dazu wurde u.a. das Maximum-Likelihood-Verfahren zur Ermittlung der Parameter der Längsbewegung angewandt. Die Ergebnisse waren “eher enttäuschend“: „Bei der Identifikation stellte sich heraus, dass teilweise gute Annäherungen der *Messwertverläufe* ermittelt wurden, die ermittelten Koeffizienten der System- und Steuermatrizen jedoch physikalisch, d.h. mit Kenntnis der Flugmechanik, nicht korrekt waren.“ |
