Der Dione-Atlas ist das dritte globale kartographische Gesamtwerk von den Eismonden des Saturn. Zuvor hatte die DLR- Gruppe bereits Atlanten vom geologisch aktiven Mond Enceladus, sowie vom unregelmäßig geformten Trabanten Phoebe erzeugt. Eine nützliche Anwendung der Karten von den Saturn-Eismonden ergibt sich auch aus der Möglichkeit, die unterschiedlichen Durchmesser der zahlreichen Einschlagkrater genauestens zu erfassen. Die statistische Auswertung dieser Häufigkeitsmessungen dient der Ermittlung der Oberflächenalter von unterschiedlichen geologischen Einheiten.
Eismond is generally 'ice month' or sometimes used for 'January', right? and Dione is used in English. However, combinations of the two don't seem to exist. Any help much appreciated? |
