The singular form is Polare as described in the following:
Polardiagramm,
Aerodynamik: von O.Lilienthal eingeführte graf. Darstellung der aerodynam. Eigenschaften eines Tragflügels oder Flugzeugs in einem rechtwinkligen Koordinatensystem durch einen als Polare bezeichneten Kurvenzug. Jeder Punkt dieser Kurve beschreibt für einen zugehörigen Anstellwinkel Größe und Richtung der resultierenden Luftkraft FR durch deren Komponenten Widerstandskraft FW (in Zuströmrichtung) und Auftriebskraft FA (senkrecht dazu). Anstelle dieser Kraftkomponenten können auch deren dimensionslose Beiwerte (Widerstandsbeiwert CW und Auftriebsbeiwert CA) aufgetragen werden.

@David: the more commonly used term of this concept is almost as you suggested - "polar diagram". Außenanbauten könnten pylons, tanks, antennas/aerials sein - und das sind immer external (tanks,etc). |
