What would be the previous and next steps. Is the assembly already put in place but just not bolted or rivetted to the main structure?

If this should be a spine section, etc. one can very well check the assembly at that stage for proper seating of the individual components.

as that would presumably be part of the final inspection that follows (or the Prüfung nach Verfahrens-Fachweisungen that precedes this step).

I should think it means that the fitting must have been carried out in accordance with approved instructions.

The assembly has been assembled, by riveting etc. etc., and is now fully assembled, but not yet installed in the aircraft. So, theoretically, it can't be properly/firmly seated. The thing that bothers me is that it doesn't (as I think it would need to) specify "Überprüfung der Montage auf ordnungsgemäßen Sitz der Nieten" or anything like that.
(The assembly in question being a composite roof beam.)
My problem being that I'd translate Sitz differently if it refers purely to the rivets that to the assembly as a whole.
