--------------------------------------------------

Alternatively, "maintenance hangar" for Werft

--------------------------------------------------
Note added at 11 mins (2011-02-24 12:10:28 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------

Essentially, as I understand it, aircraft are repaired/serviced in the "Werft" and simply parked/stored in the "Hangar".

aircraft yard vs Hangar

Explanation:
aircraft yard- is the same like a shipyard where the planes or aircrafts are parked for either repair or only to park
hangar - is a closed hall where the airplanes can park

only as a note: aircraft boneyards= American term for a storage area for aircraft that are retired from service.

shipyard area versus hangar area

Explanation:
You really need to know the location referred to as well if it is a military or civil context. If this is a military base (depot or arsenal) designed for handling aircraft-carrying vessels such as aircraft carriers or most modern helo-equipped frigates; then it really could be "shore-side", "shipyard area and hangar area", etc. After 22 years in Germany in positions working with the British military (all 3 arms), NATO and the Bundeswehr I have never heard of a repair hangar referred to as a Werft.

neutral  Colin Rowe: See reference (Roderich Cescotti, Luftwaffen-General der Bundeswehr a.D.) in "Discussion"; but yes, clarification as to the precise location of the Flughafen in question might cast new light on the matter.
