I have found sugar beet weeding for this in the Internet, but am not sure. Here is the context:

Vor 100 Jahren waren die Land¬wirtschaft allgemein, aber in ganz besonderer Weise der Zuckerrü¬benanbau vor allem zur Aussaat¬und Erntezeit geprägt von mühe¬voller, körperlicher Schwerstarbeit. Zum Rübenverziehen, Ausroden, Köpfen (Trennen von Blatt und Rübe) und Abtransport wurden in der Regel saisonal sehr viel vor Ort vorhanden waren.

agree  Kim Metzger: Sugar beet singling http://ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/title/68205 I did it as a child in Germany where it was called "einzeln".
