German term or phrase: Ährenschieben

Hello everyone,

I have two terms here which I am not sure about (I know only one per question), Schossen which I have looked up as being sowing or stem elongation and Ährenschieben being ear appearance (!!??) or booting.

Die N-Düngeempfehlungen gelten nur für die Entwicklungsstadien ***** (Schossen) oder ***** (Erscheinen des Fahnenblatts bis Beginn Ährenschieben).

**** is the name of the equipment

Ährenschiebe is an early developmental stage in plants. I interpret it as "the recommendations for N-fertiliser usage only apply to the developmental stages seedling or the appearance of flag leafs until the flower-head formation." Not the neatest translation, but I´m sure you can work it out
