Bei der offenen Mietenkompostierung wird über 10 Wochen lang der zu kompostierende Abfall in der **Dreiecksmiete** in der ersten Woche 2-3 Mal, danach (2 bis 10 Wochen) je 1-2 Mal wöchentlich zur Belüftung umgesetzt. Neben dem Belüften durch Umsetzen hat auch die kontrollierte Bewässerung Einfluss auf die Rottedauer und die Qualität des Komposts.
