All this was found within a burial mound - including the "stone rotunda" (?). Would the "Steinbauten" be "stone structures"? I assume the Urnennester are some sort of cremation urns, not sure about the "nester" bit. The burial mound dates from the Bronze Age, if that helps!! Any suggestions gratefully received.

chambers in stone structures to accommodate urns
Explanation:
The contents of the stone rotunda consisted chiefly of a large number of human skeletons. Some grave goods worth mentioning include shards of a vessel, necklaces and bracelets fashioned from teeth, fabric remnants, and close by, three chambers in stone structures to accommodate urns.

Thanks to both of you. I've chosen this answer because I couldn't come up with any hits on "urn nests", and I think Andrea's suggestions describes what these actually are very nicely. Both suggestions were helpful in providing a bit of background here - thanks!

urn nests

Explanation:
in which bodies were kept and buried. Such urn sites have been unearthed near Uttaramerur in Tamil Nadu, India. In Tamil they are called Mudhumakkalthazhi, literally meaning old people urns. They are urn-shaped and are sufficiently dimensioned to accommodate a human body.

I was so excited about entering news on my beloved Tamil Nadu that this oversight happened. Thanks to Sergey Strakhov\'s agreeing to my translation and to my action of thanking him, I could correct this oversight. It does pay to be polite, that is what I found.
