Das Gebäude ist natürlich belüftet und operiert mit einer Nachtspeicherkühlung, für die Entenklappfenster in die Fassade eingebaut sind. Das sind Fenster, die so nach außen geklappt werden können, dass sie einbruchsicher und bei Regen witterungsgeschützt sind.

In construction we called it that way. It might be regional. 'Push-out window alone could be different windows, some of them open to the side instead like the Entenklappfenster on the bottom.

I'm pretty sure they are referring to the car (2CV) and its windows that push out.

Rephrasing my initial explanation:
"Entenklappfenster" probably derives from the car (2CV) and its windows that push out.

[And the added note should read '... as aN alternative...'
