German term or phrase: Schlafzimmermythologie
I have a problem. I don't appear to be able to come up with the right translation for Schlafzimmermythologie.
Alas, there is no further context related to this term. Is there any specific term? Has anyone any ideas?

English translation:bedroom mythology
Explanation:
generates a lot more hits on google then the ST. I could only find the term in a contemporary context though.

agree  Helen Shiner: I'd go with 'the mythology of the bedroom' since it is just an amplification of the phrase before.

agree  Horst Huber: If it were the 18th century, I would suggest "boudoir".

Loves of the Gods

Explanation:
well-established EN art historical term for this subject matter (Colin Bailey catalogue), Google offers a quick list of corresponding artworks

If the specific reference to "bedroom" is important to the text, then my answer is obviously of no use

neutral  Helen Shiner: I wouldn't call that a well-established term; its the title of a book, based on a fresco cycle by Carracci probably./I don't agree that this is an established term in the way you are claiming. Boucher, Ovid, Carracci, it doesn't matter - just titles.

-> direct source not the Carraccis (catalog on 18th Cent. France = Boucher etc.), term from Ovid's Metamorphoses and well-established, try Google (jstor + "l. o. t. g.")... but a lot of titles and they describing the general subject here: I guess we disagree
