Die Fotografien zeigen die Gebäude nie als Gesamtansicht, sondern als Ausschnitt oder Modell. Im Ausschnitt liegt der Fokus auf dem Material, den Oberflächen, der Inszenierung von Exponaten durch den Innenraum oder der **Blickregie** des Ausblicks.

Die Stellwände sind in rosso levanto ausgeführt, einem stark farbigen, strukturreichen Marmor. (...) Zugleich wurden die stabilisierenden Kunstharznetze auf den Rückseiten der dünnen Marmorplatten nicht kaschiert, sondern als Gegenpol zur Schauseite ausgestellt. Wie in der Fotoserie wird die **Regie** der Schauseite dekonstruiert und durch alternative Ansichten unterwandert.

Explanation:
It's often used to mean "direction" in a film or theater context - Regisseur is director. Here, it means arranging or displaying the building to achieve a specific effect. I would translate Blickregie as "staging" too - the repetition of "blick" is unnecessary.

Asker: I have been using "setting" until now but I am not happy with it and looking to see if anybody comes up a viable alternative [ BTW - I have seen enough German films to know what 'Regie' means :-) ]

And yes, you may want to use an adjective (like striking/notable/prominent/dominant/major/etc) before 'visual features', perhaps ?
