German term or phrase: Tageslichtplanung
This term comes up again and again in the text I'm translating. I started off translating it as 'daylight planning', but now I'm not so sure; the German term gets over 90,000 hits on google - whereas 'daylight planning' gets under 2000, and a lot of those seem to be English translations of German sites.

Hence my question: is there a different and official term for this?

Daylighting: ... all measures that influence the input and use of natural daylight, be it the diffuse light off the clear or overcast sky or the directed light of the sun, into built spaces. Daylighting is influenced by the general structure of a building, the design of facades, windows and skylights, and can be further extended by the use of special devices for redirecting or transporting light. neutral  Helen Shiner: I don't know this for sure, but this sounds very American to me, which may well be appropriate for the text in question. I would think daylight design or natural light design would more naturally be used by UK planners/architects.

-> Thank you Helen for pointing this out! I cannot really claim to know the UK preferences in this case.

agree  Michael Wetzel: Google (regional search: UK) gives very good UK hits for the term. The PDF that is my first hit for UK "daylight design" also includes several instances of "daylighting", including the title of a British Standard. It also delivers about 90% less hits.
