double sashed window Explanation: Verbundfenster = one outer casing, two sashes (one in front of the other) and each sash is glazed with a glass unit. A glass unit can be single, double or triple glazed; double or triple glazed glass units are commonly referred to as insulated glass units. Thus a double sashed window counts two sashes, one in front of the other, with in total two to six glass panes. Most often (in the European building tradition) double sashed windows have an outer sash glazed with a single sheet glass unit, the outer sash then is glazed with an insulating glass unit. A thermal pane glass unit is any glass unit wich comprises an insulating glass unit; the same goes for a double-glazed window. Compositie window most often implies window units made of combinations of windows in one single plane (all next to each other, not in front of each other).
