Just ideas on lines to follow - ad/display techniques, including large-scale/outdoor (e.g. browse "revolving billboard", rich trove - <http://tinyurl.com/36hxd8z>), rather than art-hist. (where triscenorama abounds for C18-19); biscenorama would be more apt for a 2-sided affair (shd I rephrase that?); and maybe you could just operate with 'revolving-slat display board' or similar if browsing display technology brings no joy? (from your description, "corrugated" won't apply. See Agam, painter big in 1970s, for a relatively recent exponent of the biscenorama device). The word is used in an exhibition catalog. Other than the following sentence, it only appears under a photograph of the device itself.
"Eine Reihe von Apparaturen wurden eigens für die Präsentation im Landesmuseum gefertigt: Objektständer, Wandvitrinen, ein Lamellenbild und eine Textwand."

are these instructions to members of the public or does the word appear in an essay on museum design? This may well make a difference in how you translate this.
