This is in connection with a trade fair, but the relevance of Kojen here escapes me.

I picture a large exhibition hall with wide gangways and aisles where the visitors can take their time reviewing the paintings they might decide to buy. There are possibly extensive seating arrangements there too; after all, you don't necessarily want to spend good money on buying a picture on the spur of the monument - errr... moment - unless you have a good idea you'll still like it in fifty years time, do you? So it would be as well to be able to take your time over your decision.
By the way, it doesn't look as if google is too familiar with the word either, but it's one of those words of which I think anyone would understand the meaning, given the context.

Read 'scene', 'set', 'arrangement', 'group' (depending on the kind of objects concerned) -- *setting* & variants. Layout & ensemble. Here maybe (too bland? - ) display, overall display?? As for 'beruhigt' - yes Verkehrsberuhigung may be in author's mind, but here poss. implying (see rest of text?) a formerly visitor-traffic-jamming layout, now improved (more space? more contained bays not all facing the main passageways?) to allow the same no. of visitors (or more - with) better & calmer access? Fewer exhibitors? Phil's uncluttered (or if article refers to past chaos, '*less* cluttered'?) would cover that. Best to all /time for Schlaflandschaft.
If it is Denglish, what can we do? In other words, if it is the accepted term - albeit in a form of EN we don't use as native speakers - it will only be one of many such expressions, won't it?
I admit I don't recall ever seeing the word before, so yes, maybe I am guilty - as charged. I like the "tranquil standscape" too. The "traffic" was very much tongue-in-cheek", but it is after all used for a traffic-(be)calmed area in towns here, innit...
Think of all the other "-scape" words too: landscape, seascape, cityscape, townscape, villagescape, skyscape, riverscape, waterscape, esscape ... (in case you're wondering, that is a description of your average German factory canteen at lunchtime).
How would a "traffic-calmed standscape" go down? I thought so - like a lead balloon. But are they expecting visitors, or not? Why "beruhigt", then? For that, I think you need to use "peaceful"or "tranquil" - something along those lines. And I agree with Kim too.
I agree with Phil about "uncluttered" and "layout" for the whole of the vast exhibition space. How about Koje as "bay", as it is usually a bed in a purpose-made alcove? "an uncluttered layout of bays" ?
It's "stand" rather than "booth" in British English. But I'm not sure your translation should necessarily contain either of these words - it needs adapting. What do people think is meant by beruhigt - is it something like uncluttered? And could Kojenlandschaft be layout?
