German term or phrase: aufzirkeln
This is still a rough draft and I'm not sure what to do with "also" in the last sentence. I've got three terms in the same sentence as aufzirkeln that I can't figure out - I'll post 2 more questions for those.

Wir zeichnen also vertikal.

After selecting the appropriate photographic template, the image is aufzirkelt on paper. We stifteln the rolls of paper to the wall with wallpaper nails/tacksx. We draw vertically.

zirkeln = to measure exactly
Explanation:
it follows here that they are measuring something out exactly/accurately.

also = therefore. We are therefore drawing vertically. Think about it, they have pinned the base to the wall with upholstery tacks so they have a vertical piece of paper in front of them. The surface they are working on is therefore vertical.

I suspect you have got yourself well and truly bogged down in this text and need to step back and visualise what is going on. If you add a good dictionary and a bit of lateral thinking, you should be home and dry.
