I believe the "rennaissance", although not explicitly stated in the German, should be included for the sentence to be clear. The French monarchs, were, of course, descended from the House of Bourbon. Bourbon [frz. bur'bõ] (Bourbonen), nach dem Herrschaftssitz Bourbon-l'Archambault bei Moulins ben. Seitenlinie der Kapetinger, begründet durch Graf Ludwig I. von Clermont (* 1270, † 1342), einem Enkel Ludwigs IX. von Frankreich, der 1327 zum Hzg. von Bourbon erhoben wurde. Die auf seine Söhne zurückgehenden Hauptlinien (ältere Linie, erloschen 1521/27; jüngere Linie Bourbon-Vendôme, erloschen 1883) teilten sich in zahlr. Nebenlinien. Die jüngere Linie gelangte mit Heinrich IV. auf den frz. Thron (1589-1792, 1814-30), 1830-48 mit Louis Philippe die 1660 von ihr abgespaltene Nebenlinie Orléans. In Spanien begründete 1700 König Philipp V., ein Enkel Ludwigs XIV., die Linie Bourbon-Anjou (1808-14, 1868-75 und 1931-75 des Throns entsetzt), die 1735-1860 in Neapel-Sizilien und 1748-1802 sowie 1847-59/60 in Parma-Piacenza Sekundogenituren innehatte.
