German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Automation & Robotics / Erodiertechnik, Kunststofftechnik | | German term or phrase: Gas- und Wasserinnendruckteile | This is from an "Anwender-Reportage" re: Erodiertechnik. I have been researching Erodiertechnik and have learned that it is related to EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) or "EDM machines". My research regarding Spritzgießtechnik leads me to "plastic injection molds/technology"..
However, this section has me stumped, any insight would be appreciated!

see e.g.:
Internal Gas - 'Short Shot' Method
Process Sequence
Mould closes and a precise controlled volume of plastic is injected into the mould cavity.
After a selected time delay, gas is injected into the molten plastic to complete filling of the cavity and to pack the moulding with gas.
Gas then continues to pack the moulding uniformly as it expands to compensate for volumetric shrinkage of the plastic as it cools.
Plastic refill in the moulding machine can commence as soon as the plastic feed point has solidified, or after the nozzle valve is closed.
Gas is vented to atmosphere before mould opening.

Water Injection Moulding - new methods of using water instead of gas to further reduce time cycles of thick section tubular products.
Water Injection Moulding (WAM) is also based on the PEP process.
The mould cavity is filled and partially packed with plastic gas. Gas or water injection creates the initial bubble, followed by water injection to pack the cavity and then sequencing the opening of a shut-off valve to enable the expulsion of molten plastic to the secondary cavity. The secondary cavity is then pierced to allow water to flow through the gas channel(s) to cool the plastic. Water is then drained from the cavity by gas pressure or by air injection to dry the part before opening the mould and ejecting the part.
