German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Automotive / Cars & Trucks / Automotive | | German term or phrase: Silbern eloxiert | Car parts manufacturers catalogue/website.
Silbern eloxiert, eloxieren, as opposed to chrome.
Example from the website: Handbrake sleeve Form A, Rillen (Silbern eloxiert)
I know that the word comes from Eloxal, ELektrisch OXidiertes ALuminium. But how do I say it in english?
Tnx in advance |

1 hr confidence: natural anodized or anodized
Explanation: The reason is that aluminium is originally silver in colour. Normally, before the anodizing an etching is done to get the material prepared and to give the material a certain matt appearance. The German specific term for that is E6 EV1, E6 refers to the surface preparation etching, EV1 clear anodizing.
