Leistung ohne Luftaufladung
Der Rest ist aktuelle Technik: Einzelradaufhängung rundum, vorn 225, hinten 245 mm breite 18-Zöller, Leichtbau-Karosserieteile aus Kunststoff und Aluminium, in der vorn flach der Motor in der Größe eines herkömmlichen Vierzylinders seine Ansaugluft schnüffelt. Im Gegensatz zum bei uns seit fünf Jahren nicht mehr verkauften RX-7, den zwei Turbolader auf durstige (Testverbrauch 16 Liter Super) 239 PS trieben, schafft Renesis die Leistung ohne Luftaufladung. Grund: Die Ein- und Auslassöffnungen sind nicht mehr radial angeordnet, sondern enden seitlich im Gehäuse.

Die Vorteile dieses Prinzips (bessere Füllung, weniger Frischgasverluste, kein ***Schieberuckeln*** mehr) hatte NSU in den Sechzigern auch schon erkannt, scheiterte aber an der schwierigen Abdichtung. Zauberwerkstoff heute: Keramik. Dadurch soll Renesis nur halb so viel Öl verbrauchen, der Spritkonsum um 40 Prozent unter dem des Turbo-Vorgängers liegen. Auch die Abluft soll Euro-4-sauber sein.
