Science - Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-)
German term or phrase: Kernzeichnung
Autopsy report.
Histology of the heart.

Thanks!

English translation:nuclear staining
Explanation:
I assume that "Kernzeichnung" means the same as "Kernfärbung" (but I'm not sure). There are quite a few hits in Google if you search for "heart histology" and "loss of nuclear staining". In some results, "cross-striation" (Querstreifung) is mentioned as well. Loss of nuclear staining seems to be an indication of cell death (karyolysis).

agree  MMUlr: yes, IMO "loss of striation and nuclear staining (pattern)", i.e., DNA-positive staining reaction. see: http://eurheartj.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/reprint/26/17/1797 (find: "nuclear staining").
