It's not only the mere magnitude of the search result (-> difference in number), but the relevance of the websites or the question, how far you can rely on those sources.

So just compare the Google search (advanced search: English language, just to make sure :-) ) only on university websites (site:.edu). These are also outside English-speaking countries but ...

-> surgery "parenchymatous organ" site:.edu
n=7: http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&lr=lang_en&as_qdr=all&tbs=...

-> surgery "parenchymal organ" site:.edu
n=53: http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&lr=lang_en&as_qdr=all&tbs=...

Google has articles on both " Parenchymatous " and " parenchymal" organs. It seems both words are used? Google found 71,200 results for " Parenchymatous organs", and 521,000 results for " parenchymal organs". So it would seem " parenchymal" is the more widely used expression. Agree?

a) Thanks for posting some more text.
b) For typing Umlauts, please see the reference I've posted under your other question: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/3973619. Alternatively, go to Start --> All Programs --> Accessories--> System tools --> Character map and select the appropriate character for inserting/copying.
For quicker access to the character map, you may want to create a shortcut on your desktop.
