Das gesamte Golfgelände ist umsäumt von Waldrändern, durchzogen von Wallhecken, Feldgehölzen und einem Bachlauf.

I googled the word and sort of understood what a Feldgehölz is. I just have no idea how to express that kind of feature in English. Am grateful for any inspiration ... thank you already!

agree Cetacea: coppice seems to be more common, at least in literature on biodiversity. It's also used as a verb, as in "coppiced hazel".
