German to English translations [PRO]
Marketing - Botany
German term or phrase: Quartierschild
Not much context, I'm afraid. It appears in a list of merchandising materials (signs, etc) for garden centres as:

"Arkaden-/Quartierschilder"

It seems to be a term referring to a sign describing either a single plant or bed of plants. Can anybody help me by explaining what exactly what sort of sign a "Quartierschild" is, or by suggesting an English equivalent?

TIA, David.

Explanation:
Here are a few ideas; I think they could apply the term "Quartierschild" to the signposting you find in a Hypermarket as well - I certainly don't see any reason not to! It is after all only a direction to a certain "Quartier"...

Thanks for your input, David. I decided in the end that "plot sign" would be the best translation here.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks David, but that's just my problem. The word doesn't seem to mean what, as an English speaker, I'd expect it to. It seems to be used only in connection with plants, and sometimes seems to indicate a single plant rather than a quarter/area/region.
