Botany / Obstbau
German term or phrase: Anlage
I am translating a short description of a company that grows apples.

eine Fläche von 5 ha, die mit der weltweit ersten größeren Schniga-Anlage mit virusfreien Material angepflanzt wurde

I am struggling to find the correct term here in this context. Bearing in mind that these are Schniga trees, I am thinking along the lines of plantation, but I then have the problem of the "plantation being planted with"... ;-) I sadly don't have a photo to see whether this Anlage is an open space or covered area (e.g. greenhouses). Other parts of the site include a rootstock nursery, cutting orchard and warehousing.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this Anlage?

Thanks for your help.

plantation
Explanation:
I think at 5 ha it has to be a "plantation". You could get round the "plantation" and "planting" by saying "laid out using virus-free material".

Orchard

Explanation:

there is also a picture where the young trees are in a greenhouse. In the US fruit orchards are now often use hightunnels for their trees, where the canopy is removed as the weather warms.

Also since we are talking about fruit trees I think orchard would work.

However, if the company is only growing the young trees to sell to an orchard, then plantation would be better.
