German term or phrase: Ausschöpfung der Selbstbeteiligung
Yet another term appearing in a list of outgoings under medical insurance costs. "Selbstbeteiligung" refers to the excess on the medical insurance policy but I'm unsure as to what "Ausschöpfung" means in this sense.

Any help/explanation greatly appreciated.

TIA,

Fiona

English translation:see below
Explanation:
"Anwartschaftsversicherung auf KV Vereinigte" = KV Vereinigte expectancy cover" this is the translation given in "Wörterbuch Versicherung" by K.-H Stocks and like the good lexicon web page reference given by Dierk says: it is insurance to insure that the new health insurance will be issued under the same conditions as an older health insurance that was suspended or in a dormant status.

"Ausschöpfung der Selbstbeteiligung" = "deductible (AE) / excess (BE) payments"

"Kosten für Betriebsvorauszahlung" = "employer pay advance costs"

This whole row of questions seems to be connected to this maintenance (BE) / support (AE) suit where the ex-wife is not getting the payments she feels she is entitled to. She is being ignominiously forced to list all the money she is spending, for which the old %&§$ß should be made to pay. She has probably had to make some insurance arrangements (the expectancy cover) which cost extra money, perhaps because her divorced financial position is now worse than when she was married, pay excesses/deductibles, and maybe even ask her boss for an advance on her pay which somehow involved some costs, perhaps interest. What do you think about this scenario?

38 mins
exhaustion of deductible

Explanation:
Selbstbeteiligung=deductible in American English, so I think it's payment of the whole deductible before the insurance company coughs anything up.

deductable, excess

Explanation:
A Selbstbeteiligung is what we call a
"deductable" in the US: it means you
pay, for example, the first $10 of the
cost of each visit to the doctor, or the
first $20 for each day in the hospital.

"Ausschöpfung" refers to using up the benefits of the insurance. The insurance might be limited to $500 a day for hospital stay, and you pay what is in excess of that.
