German term or phrase: Umrüstkosten / LC
This appears as part of a list of costs involved in the supply of a product. The list includes:
Lagerhaltung, Garantie / Kulanz, Inlandsfracht, Handling, Logistik etc. The product is a car. What are Umrüstkosten and can anyone shed any light on LC which follows as shown above in my text.
English translation:Hope this is not too late ->Retrofitting
Yesterday, I had problems logging in, otherwise I would have responded sooner. Umruesten is usually referred to retrofitting or conversion/converting with regard to cars. YOu could also say modification.
As for LC, this is a bit more difficult. Siemens dictionary for Industrielle Elektrotechnik offers LC: Lerncomputer (programmable computer). An internet site did not have much to offer, but here:

Umrüsten is retooling (Schäfer and Ernst).
As for LC, I have no idea. Schäfer does give Letter of Credit for L/C, but I don't know if that'll fit into your context.
My personal suspicion is that LC might be the model name (or the code name for a model) for a car - it would make sense in conjunction with retooling. Maybe you can tell from your overall context if that's a viable interpretation.
