CIM

English translation: some guesses

German to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial
German term or phrase: CIM
The abbreviation appears in a parenthetical reference about the kinds of policies an insurance company won't be underwriting because of the special items they deal with (airbags . . . retirement management, IFM [I'm assuming investment and financial management, though there are other possibilities] and CIM).

Any help would be appreciated.

I used the abbreviations in the body of the text and footnoted the possibilities, with the added note that they were just that: possibilities, not certainties. Thanks you guys.

Explanation:
This is what humanity gets for using too many acronyms!!!!!!!

From the looks of these sites, it appears that Beth's "Corporate Information Management" and Portradit's "Computer Integrated Manufacturing" could both be right, as well as your "Investment and Financial Management".

http://www.cordis.lu/esprit/src/iim98.htm

http://lms.mech.upatras.gr/Projects/BEP-IFM/problem.htm

http://www.glossar.de/glossar/amglos_c.htm#cim

This acronym site:

http://aix2.uottawa.ca/~s1539071/acronym.html#i

shows

IFM = Intelligent Flow Management

and

CIM = Corporate Information Model

This acronym site:

http://www.hjs.org/BABEL.HTM#C

shows

IFM = nothing

and

CIM = Common Information Model and Computer Integrated Manufacturing

Not much help, I'm afraid. - Dan
