German term or phrase: Valuta Dienstag waere ich 23 Brief für fünfzige
(in the stockbroking division of a bank)

I am wondering if there is a specific way of saying this in English?

I translated it as: "Valuta Tuesday I would (??) 23 sellers for fifty"

I offer 50 at 23, for value Tuesday
Explanation:
This would be the convention in the futures markets and many securities markets ("pay x for y - sell y at x", where x=price and y=quantity). Alternatively you could say "I'm 23 offered for 50".

agree  Steffen Walter: German sentence comes from a "Spiegel" portrait of the Frankfurt-based stockbroker Dirk Müller (who frequently appeared on an ad photo and is sometimes referred to as "Mr. Dax"). The article was published two or three weeks ago. No nonsense, Ingrid!
