German term or phrase: objektbereich
Am I correct in translating "Objektbereich" as "Real estate division" in the following sentence:

The hidden installation prevents misuse and is therefore very suitable for use in the public domain (public lavatories).

for public use (e.g. applications/buildings/facilities/transportation etc.)

>>The invisible/concealed installation prevents abuse and is therefore also extremely well suited for use in public facilities (public toilets)<<

Objektbereich Definition [here in the in the context of textiles, as an example:]

Sozial- und Pflegebereiche (--> Krankenhaus-Textilien)

Haustextilien
Der Einsatz von Haustextilien im Objektbereich umfasst im wesentlichen: Bettwäsche, Decken, Handtücher, Krankenhaus-Textilien, Matratzen, Steppdecken.<<

Premises of the building (project)

Perhaps you can find a more elegant (shorter) term but the two suggestions before are going into the wrong direction. Objekt in this context is a specific building or a building project and Bereich is the whole area belonging to this building.
It is okay to translate öffentliche Toiletten as public facilities/ lavatories. Objektbereich though is not public domain. The paragraph itself implies that they want to prevent misuse (therefore it cannot be public).

in the premises in question

Here I basically agree with alemminger (in spite of what Tom has to say). 'Objektbereich' has to be regarded as a context-specific 'reference term' for purposes of translation; it amounts to something like 'having to do with the object in question'. 'Bereich', in general, appears to be a currently fashionable term that the Germans have latched onto just to give translators headaches.
