factors Explanation: Sachverhalt can mean fact or circumstance. In this context, however, I would translate it as factor = dynamic factors. Untersachverhalt = other factors or sub-factors. Hope this helps. |

variables, subordinate variables Explanation: My technical dictionaries weren't much help here. Some general dictionary and AltaVista background:--- Oxford-Duden German dictionary: Sachverhalt : facts (of the matter)-- Langenscheidt New College German Dictionary: facts, cicumstances -- Duden, Deutsches Universalwörterbuch: die (tatsächlichen) Umstände, der (von einer Reihe von Fakten zu umreißende) Stand der Dinge)--- AltaVista (any language) word count: sachverhalt: 43604; Ignored: untersachverhalt:0; sondersachverhalt:0 +sachverhalt +software (Englisch): AltaVista 18 pages found +sachverhalt +software (German): AltaVista 2,062 pages found +sachverhalt +database (English): AltaVista 15 pages found +sachverhalt +database (German): AltaVista 121 pages found und. You might search a bit under the most likely combination (inGerman; English AltaVista searches didn't yield much of use). |

see below Explanation: This appears to be part of a program for filling out forms for police or court or attorney's office reports. I would only change Tom's suggestions slightly: circumstances/facts/particulars/details of the case * or * statement of circumstances/the facts/particulars/details * or * account of the circumstances/facts/particulars/details * or * factual situation * the word "unter" is not directly connected with "SACHVERHALT", it only means the fact that the event being described happened on a holiday would be switched on (maybe clicked) under the category STATEMENT OF CIRCUMSTANCES (or whatever phrase you choose) and thereby also carried over to AP/Client where it would be more thoroughly described in detail. |
