Bus/Financial
German term or phrase: freistellen
XX ist die Übernahme eines Produkts von ABC freigestellt.

Clause in a contract. The previous clause stated that ABC may make other products available from its range, which it wishes to sell through XX. Does this clause mean that XX may choose whether to accept these further products to sell? It just strikes me as a strange use of freistellen.

Thanks in advance!
