People who bought Deutsche Telekom stock during its initial public offering have something to look forward to at the end of the month. Those who have held on to their "T-Aktie" stock since November 1996 are now entitled to "loyalty" shares. Current estimates indicate that more than ten million Telekom shares will be allotted. "Our efforts are aimed at long-term performance and not sharp, short-lived price fluctuations. The T-Aktie's development since 1996 does not have to shy comparison. Those people who have not sold their T-Aktie stock in the meantime will now be rewarded with loyalty shares on top of the stock's substantial increase in price," said Deutsche Telekom Chairman Ron Sommer. rights offering Explanation: In USA, funds will occasionally offer those special deals for holders. Gabelli Trust recently had one, where you could buy 1 share at a 30% discount for every 6 you hold. The rights can also be sold individually. "Discount over DM XXX; rights offering of 1 share for each 10 held" |
