symbolic share Explanation: I have seen this term being used. I work for the world's no. 1 mfr. of CDRs and they are no. 2 in optical media mfg. It was originally a Swiss Company and the same name with suffic "India Ltd." being used now. In honour of the person from whom we acquired the "name" we allot him one "symbolic share". It is not really traded in the stock exchange, but you can call this as "remembrance or honour" for this person with whom my CMD had business dealings earlier. If you go according to the strict definition of "virtual" (almost or nearly as described, but not completely or according to strict definition), then Teresa's suggestion has an edge. But, for purpose of translation, I thought "symbolic" can work as it appears close to the "original". |
