I think, I need to draw to your attention to the fact that one quote is in the singular and the other one in the plural. In English, we sometimes say he is a perfect candidate for this or that....I think what the author wants to emphasize is that sooner or later the perfect candidate will show up (wird sich herauskristallisieren as we say in German), and hence it is not necessarily those who are best qualified by their training, who are meant to stay and outlast their competitors. Other factors also play an important role in the cumbersome process of finding the right person...(e.g. character, ability to work in a team, etc.) |
