German to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general) / Bidding process
German term or phrase: Aufklärung
Context:

"Bei diesem Fragenkatalog handelt es sich um eine wichtige Aufklärung im Sinne von VOL/A zur Ausschreibung ..."

VOL/A is the "Verdingungsordnung für Leistungen", cf. http://tinyurl.com/Basics-of-procurement . Obviously, it is not "Aufklärung" in the medical or sexual sense (cf. http://www.proz.com/kudoz/1260779 , http://www.proz.com/kudoz/1290990 etc..)

clarification
Explanation:
The context is an Ausschreibung - an invitation to tender and it is common practice for potential tenderers to be given the opportunity to ask for clarification of any points before submitting their tenders for the job. These are often summarised in a document - the Fragenkatalog in this case - and reissued as an addendum to all short-listed suppliers, for general clarification.
