German to English translations [Non-PRO]
Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general) / quoting times
German term or phrase: in der Zeit zwischen 13.00 und 15.00 Uhr
This is for a BUSINESS TRAINING MANUAL. The sentence goes on to say that during this time, meetings are rather not scheduled.

My question is about the time. English speakers often find the military time confusing. Would you advise me to use:

- between 1pm and 3pm
- between 1300 and 1500 hrs (like this)
- between 1300 and 1500 hrs (zeros as superscript)
- any other form of spelling

As this is a large document for training use, I need to be consistent.

Many thanks!

agree  Birgit Gläser: I would use a colon instead of a period, but in this context, I think we could well do with only 1 pm to 3 pm as this is a general recommendation.

agree  jccantrell: If intended for the USA, I would use ':' in place of '.' in the numbers, and a space before 'am' and 'pm'.
28 mins

agree  Horst Huber: With ":00" or without, that would depend on the required formality. Some people use AM, PM. In the US only military folk are familiar with figures like 1300.
40 mins

agree  Andrew Swift: So many variations... My vote for 1pm and 3pm on the basis that gaps and dots should be used only to aid comprehension.

neutral  Heart: It would be 1:00 (not 1.00) - use a colon, not a period
