agree  philgoddard: I think "allocations" is right, albeit for the wrong reasons. It's nothing to do with insurance contributions - it means allocations as in chargeouts of central costs to individual departments/divisions.

Corporate recharges


Explanation:
This company must have belonged to a group, probably in manufacturing. DB = Deckungsbeitrag = Contribution.
Contribution 1/DB1 = Sales (+/- stock movements) minus cost of materials + direct labour
Contribution 2/DB2 = Above minus indirect labour + factory overheads
Contribution 3/DB3 = DB2 minus local overheads + corporate charges/Umlagen
Umlagen are the recharges for running head office, using central services (purchasing, HR etc). Each group will have slight variations on their definitions of DB2 and DB3, and on whether subsidiaries are judged solely on DB3 or on a combination of DB 2 and DB3.
