German term or phrase: Mit Wirkung vom...erteilt
Mit Wirkung vom 1 Mai 1994 wird ihr die Approbation als Arztin erteilt.

The sentence structure was tricky to translate into English.

I am not sure how to translate the passive voice here.

Is it okay to say that "she was awarded", although "erteilt" here does not necessarily translate as "awarded"

Proposal: "On May 1 1994, she was awarded her License to Practice Medicine"

Many thanks for any help with this!
