German to English translations [PRO] Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs | | German term or phrase: Begründung der Lebenspartnerschaft | Stated in a Lebenspartnerschaftsurkunde (certificate of life partnership) from the Standesamt in Berlin Charlottenburg. This basically is the same-sex union partnership certificate.
In the original it says: 'Niederschrift über die Begründung der Lebenspartnerschaft', then 'Familienname nach Begründung der Lebenspartnerschaft'. In this case I am not sure of what "Begründung' specifically means. I have put 'substantiating a life partnership' as I didn't think 'reasons for life partnership' fit in this context. Any suggestions would be welcome, thank you! |

| Grading comment Thanks very much! Logically that did seem like the answer, I just didn't know if you could use 'Begründung' in the same context as 'Gründung'. 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer |
