the transllation gives an indication to the reader as to the exact qualifications that the applicant has achieved.
If the translation is ambigious, the possible future boss might draw his own conclusions, which might
be to the disadvantage of the applicant. Therefore I would not choose diploma, since it is not
necessarily a certificate obtained at a higher institution of learning.
BA sounds the closest possible. Actually, the applicant took 4.5 years of studies, but the studies can be
finished in 3.5 years. So I put the min. time requirement for this degree in a footnote.

I would not try to translate by an anglo-saxon degree.Because of the differences in the education system it can be misleading. I would say "graduate of a Fachhochschule", or perhaps "with a diploma from a Fachhochschule in ....."

Hi,
why not use diploma? There is a Diploma in Higher Education you can get at various colleges and universities, there are other Diploma studies, and in this case, since it's not an MA (that would have to be Magister) and it's not really a BA (studies too long and presumably more in-depth), then Diploma in Social Pedagogy might represent best what you actually have there.
