German term or phrase:dauerte rel. lange
The immediate context is the carrying out of wetting tests on various ODTs.
Well, in the following sentence, base on the need for stirring, I would expect the first part of the sentence to say that the wetting profess took a relatively long time.. Am I correct in interpreting "dauerte rel. lange" in this way? I am sure that this is a very elementary question, but I am a bit uncertain.. Many Thanks.
Das Benetzen der Heparin Matrix ***dauerte rel. lange***, daher wurden diese ODTs umgeruehrt.
Thank you, very much, Marga. That's what I thought... actually, this is the whole sentence. The next sentence is a repetion of the first (with a different matrix/ODT, where now it replaces "lange" by "kurz". Then, after a period, it says, the caffeine matrix is sticky.
Thank you, again.
Your suggestion of using "the wetting process took a relatively long time" seems to be alright. This is how I would render it. However, a complete German sentence would have helped.

lasted for a relatively long time
Explanation: alternatives, depending on the larger context, would be
"went on for a relatively long time" and many others
