Polyvinilchlorid (PVC)
gehört zu den mengenmäßig am meisten verwendeten technischen Kunststoffen. Auf Grund seiner guten mechanischen Festigkeitswerte, seiner recht interessanten chemischen Beständigkeit, seiner guten dielektrischen Eigenschaften und seines günstigen Preises sind vielfältige Anwendungsmöglichkeiten gegeben. Das eher ungünstige Gleitreibungs-Verhalten lässt jedoch keine Gleitfunktionen zu. Hart PVC lässt sich sehr gut kleben.
